Today in class we did an exercise in which our class was placed into two groups, and each group had to figure out a way to move across the room with everyone connected either by having arms hooked together or by touching the ankle of the person who was next to you. We weren’t allowed to speak or discuss what we were going to do before we did it, which was challenging because everyone in my group had different ideas that they were trying to physically communicate at the same time. In the end, we ended up awkwardly moving across the room at a slower pace than the other group who seemed to be much more coordinated. Mrs. Morris then asked us to do the same exercise again using a prop, and this time since we had done it before we were more prepared and we ended up moving across the room at a much faster speed and efficiency. Therefore, I think there were many challenges presented in this exercise such as trusting each other, being cooperative, and working efficiently and on time, but as we did it a second time and then a third time we got better at these skills.
