Today I finally showed my theater research project on Hairspray to the whole class and Mrs. Morris. I had brought my set design with me, but I realized how important time management is because I ended up starting my set design too late and I couldn’t find any other materials so I used cardboard. Therefore, the main challenge was getting my work done in time for my presentation. During the presentation, I also had the challenge of not look down at my paper and making eye contact with the audience, and also cleverly presenting my choices. Since I was prepared for this challenge, I practiced my presentation at home many times before today and wrote down everything I was expected to say. Overall, I think I did a good job with my oral presentation and my designs, although I wish I had started my set design earlier so that it was made of a sturdier material than cardboard, and also so I could’ve added more details to the set.
