Today was my second class of IB Theater HL. At the beginning of class, we did the same ice breaker activities we had finished with last class, which helped everyone get settled in and comfortable with each other. After this, Mrs. Morris told us to get into groups of 3-4 with people we did not know that well and answer 4 questions about theater with them. After we had finished this assignment, the class was divided into two groups to complete a prjoect in which we had to incorporate all aspects of the AIS-R eagle code into a theatrical performance. It took a lot of time for our group to brainstrom how we should do this, and it took patience and open-mindedness on my part to listen to everyone's ideas and try to include them in the performance. In the end, we did not have enough time to pull the whole performance through in an organized manner because we were not given much time to complete the task and we had spent most of the time brainstorming. Therefore, I think the greatest challenge we were faced with was time management. We were not prepared for a task being thrown at us on the spot and being given little time to complete it, and therefore we didn't divide up our time so we would be able to deliver the performance properly and without mistakes. Although we had run out of time, in the end we improvised our best and used our bodies and voices to be expressive and catch the audience's attention. In this way, my vocal and physical skills definitely improved, and I also learned time management and direction is key to a successful project and I will use this knowledge to improve on my time management the next project I am given in theater. Overall, it was an exciting class and I learned a lot about what it takes to give a theatrical performance in a short amount of time.
